Toy Cleaning & Safety Policy

Your child’s safety and well-being are at the heart of everything we do. We follow thoughtful, consistent cleaning and handling practices designed to reduce the spread of everyday germs and viruses, so families can feel confident and kids can play freely.

All toys in our rotation are regularly inspected to ensure they are complete, safe, and in good condition. Each item goes through a resting period between uses, which allows time for any potential surface-based germs to naturally break down. Current research indicates that virus transmission through surfaces is generally low, especially after several days.

Cleaning methods are tailored to each toy’s materials and construction. Durable plastic toys may be washed using high-heat methods such as dishwashers, soft toys are laundered in washing machines, and other items are wiped or sprayed with non-toxic, child-safe cleaning solutions. For porous materials like board games, books, and cardboard puzzles, we follow best practices commonly used by libraries and child-focused institutions.

When additional sanitation is appropriate, we may use alcohol-based solutions, heat, or UVC light technology, always prioritizing methods that are effective and safe for children.

Toys are handled with care at every step. Our team packs toys with clean hands and follows sensible health precautions when needed to reduce the chance of spreading illness. Items are transported in containers or bags to limit exposure, and whenever possible, we use reusable and washable packaging to support sustainability.

Our processes are reviewed and updated regularly based on the latest research and guidance from trusted organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, Environmental Protection Agency, and recognized library and childcare authorities.

We believe safety practices should evolve as knowledge improves. If you have research, insights, or questions about toy safety or cleaning methods, we’re always happy to learn and continue the conversation.
